Introduction

The 10th Annual CHARITY CHASE HALF MARATHON is Hickory’s premiere half marathon (13.1 miles) and is known amongst the running community as one of the toughest anywhere. The name of the race sets the tone for the event – it is truly a CHARITY event with over $138,000 being raised and distributed to local charitable organizations over the past nine years. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2015.

Over four hundred runners aged 11 to 74 from eleven (11) states participated in 2014 to help us raise over $25,000.
More importantly, all of this money stayed right here in Catawba County. Our goal for 2015 is to raise over $35,000
and we are relying on our local businesses to help us meet that challenge.

CHARITY CHASE is a unique event in which all proceeds go back to the charities that directly participate in the planning, set up and execution of the race. Proceeds are allocated and given directly to charities based on the number of volunteer hours they expend during the event. Catawba Valley Rotary invites charities who work towards the improvement of emotional, spiritual, education and physical health of children and young adults. CHARITY CHASE provides a lifeline of financial support and community awareness that is desperately needed by so many of these organizations.
