Why the Rotary Club of Catawba
Valley's (Conover) annual auction scheduled the evening of February 11, 2003,
(6 p.m.) at Rock Barn Country Club.
Since it's being held so close to Mardi Gras, this year's theme is "Mardi Gras Madness," and the
Country Club will be decorated in beads, feathered masks and posters of New
Orleans. Mardi Gras music will be performed by a jazz ensemble, silent and live
auction items -- including large furniture pieces, $1,000 worth of on-air
radio advertising time and much more -- will
be up for bid. Plus, a gourmet dinner featuring a New
Orleans-style menu will be served to all attending – all for the low price
of $20 per person. Best of all, buy tickets now and receive a chance to win a trip for two to New Orleans. That's right -- two roundtrip airfare tickets to New Orleans anytime next year that restrictions allow (or any location in the United States, if you choose instead) and a week's stay of your choice of one of about eight French Quarter-area hotels in New Orleans -- one a five-star establishment!
