March has been a wonderful month at our club.  With our 27th Anniversary and the induction of at least 5 new members this is an exciting time for all and an especially proud one for me.

Rotarian Todd now has Polio Plus Raffle tickets available for members.  We ask that each member buy 1 ticket and sell 1 ticket.  OR... buy both

It is for a NEW Red Corvette that is currently in the hands of the district.  Profit from this raffle will be awarded to Polio Plus, Rotary's Corporate Campaign to finish the job of putting an end to Polio worldwide.  If you need extra tickets just ask Todd, we have them available.

The drawing will be held on May 3rd at the end of the District Conference in Myrtle Beach.  Do not have to be there to win.

Our club membership committee has organized an annual membership rush starting on Febuary 26th.  Please be sure to coordinate with your team captains and inform them of who you plan to invite and confirmations of who is coming each week.

We look forward to having several new members to induct at the end of our 3 or 4 week membership rush.

On February 12th our normal meeting was busy as ever with 2 new members inducted as well as the kickoff of our annual Membership Rush event.

Membership Rush
Our Membership committee kicked off our yearly membership rush event that will take place on Thurs, Feb 26th at our scheduled meeting.  We encourage existing members to bring in potential new members for this event and to consider who in the community will make a great addition to our club.  On the 26th a Club Assembly is planned to review the various aspects of Rotary and as a general information session for prospective new members.

February 16, 2009 
This week the volunteers who have worked for nearly a month on the Northern Coast of Honduras, on numerous projects, have returned and have shared photos of the progress in building a new grade school in the community of Las Palmas.

Rotarian Linda Gilbert from the RC of Charlotte-Shelburne in VT facilitated the opportunity for our club and district to participate in this project.

The current status is that all of the foundation and walls are complete with only the roof and furnishings to be completed.  The rooftop work is not done by visiting volunteers in order to keep their safety level high.
